Batman - for Colorado by EternaLegend Batman - for Colorado by EternaLegend
• Painter XI/Wacom tablet (one layer painting)

An artwork for those who were tragically killed, harmed or scarred at the Batman premiere in Colorado.

A movie is a place where you can sit back, relax and to enjoy seeing something out of this world while having a good time with either friends or family. The fact that it has happened in a cinema has honestly shaken me.
Movie theatres are suppose to represent "great art", from the visions and works of the director, actors, editors, performers, special effects team, camera operator, stunt coordinators and talented countless others where the audience can forget about reality for a certain amount of time to explore vast new fantasy worlds and to create personal connections with characters, magic and wonder, and much more within. For someone to walk in and open fire at innocent lives enjoying a film that many have been fans of for many years defies comprehension. It is absolutely shattering, and literally shocking.

I've made this for the Aurora community that has been torn apart by this event. It's not much… I know.
But my prayers and condolences go out to everyone who has been affected by this.

Kindly reblog on tumblr.

This artwork has also been featured in an's article.…

I'm surprised that so many people are scared to go see the movie because of the shooting. The movie was AMAZING! It is the best movie I have ever seen, and I've seen a lot of movies.

Being a Colorado resident I found this picture, not only visually amazing, but extremely heartfelt and sincere. It means a lot to see such an outcry of support. It's truly dark days when now you have to wonder whether you'll make it out of a movie alive, but seeing artwork like this just makes it just a little bit brighter. I hope you don't mind, but I shared this on my facebook, of course giving the credit to you. You deserve it and thank you so much for this.

This is Indy. Greetings from Canada!!

the people who have commented before me have said a mouthful. What happened in the Centennial State should never have happened but keep in mind that it wasn't the Dark Knight who set him off. It was the trailer for a gangster movie, but I digress.

A picture is worth a thousand words and, you , my friend, have said plenty with this one art piece. I was going to see the Amazing Spiderman, but I really don't know now.

There was an article in the Entertainment section of my paper today and, I'm paraphrasing, but it went something like this: "Sensitivity is a word rarely used in Hollywood these days."

Now, after this, maybe it'll be used a little more often. We can always hope.

Thank you ever so kindly for this.

Sincerely yours always,

As an artist, Batman fan, and someone who hates violence, I really appreciate this beautiful piece.

I work at a theater so, i see how many ppl make a movie choice based on the shooting. Ever since this happened, i get so many customers that do not want to see this movie because of this tragedy. It's really sad that mothers, fathers, bothers, sisters, other family and friends had to be injured or lose their lives for enjoying something the were a fan of. And other fans are flipping out, afraid to see THAT particular movie now.

Come on folks, lets not be intimidated by some random act of violence. Terrorist like that can strike anywhere, anytime, this should not force us to change our daily plans,or lifestyle. I,for one, still plan on seeing this movie with my mother.
